The Werribee Obedience Dog Club Inc. is a well-established community-based non-profit voluntary organization dedicated to promoting responsible dog ownership and providing basic obedience training to dog owners in the local area. Since its inception in 1976, the club has been committed to educating members on the importance of training their dogs, from basic obedience skills to competitive trialing standards. The club welcomes dog owners of all breeds, ages, and sizes, whether they are looking to train their dogs for competition or simply want a well-behaved family pet.
Run by a team of dedicated unpaid volunteers, including experienced Instructors and Committee members, the Werribee Obedience Dog Club offers a range of classes tailored to different skill levels, from Puppies to trial standard. Training sessions are structured in a class format and cover essential commands such as heeling, sit, drop, stays, recall, and socialization. The club also provides members with the opportunity to purchase leads and collars at reasonable prices to aid in their training sessions.
As an affiliated member of the Victorian Canine Association Inc., trading as DOGS Victoria, the Werribee Obedience Dog Club upholds strict vaccination requirements for all members and their dogs. Prospective members are required to present their dog’s current Vaccination Certificate upon joining and annually thereafter. The club does not offer Puppy Kinder/Pre-school classes for very young puppies but recommends that owners enroll their puppies in a suitable course before joining the club, ensuring a safe and positive training experience for all participants.
