The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy of South Australia Inc. (GCCFSA) was established in 1962 and is the original controlling body and pedigreed cat registry in the state. Affiliated with the Australian Cat Federation, GCCFSA is supported by affiliated cat clubs and cat lovers, owners, and breeders of most cat breeds. The Council is dedicated to promoting responsible cat ownership and ensuring the well-being of felines.
At GCCFSA, our Secretary and Public Relations Officer provide a free ‘information and advice’ service to assist cat owners in providing the best care for their pets. We emphasize the importance of following ethical breeding practices and ensuring that all cats are vaccinated and desexed. GCCFSA also offers guidance on choosing the right cat breed for your household, participating in cat shows, and becoming a registered breeder.
Members of GCCFSA benefit from access to cat show events, cat care resources, and networking opportunities within the cat breeding community. The Council upholds strict standards for exhibitors and breeders to maintain the integrity of pedigreed cats and promote responsible pet ownership. Whether you are a seasoned cat enthusiast or a newcomer to the world of cat fancy, GCCFSA is here to provide support, information, and resources to enhance your experience with feline companions.
