Welcome to Dogs Tasmania (Tasmanian Canine Association Inc (TCA Inc)), the premier organisation overseeing all pure-bred canine activities in the state. From scheduled shows and obedience trials to retrieving trials and field trials tailored for Gundog breeds like Pointers, Setters, Spaniels, Retrievers, and Utility Gundogs such as Weimaraners, Dogs Tasmania offers a diverse range of events open to all dog breeds. Additionally, several obedience clubs affiliated with Dogs Tasmania conduct Tracking Trials, introducing a relatively new discipline to the state’s canine community.
Dogs Tasmania operates as a vital member body of the Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC) and maintains close ties with kindred organisations across different states and territories. As an associate member of the FCI – Federation Cynologique Internationale, Dogs Tasmania plays a significant role in the global canine community. Established in 1954 as the Kennel Control Council of Tasmania, the organisation evolved into the Tasmanian Canine Association Inc in 1995, with a fully-elected governing Council overseeing its operations.
With forty-four (44) affiliated clubs, including Agricultural Societies, Dogs Tasmania delegates the responsibility of conducting shows and trials throughout the year to ensure a vibrant calendar of events for dog enthusiasts.
