Cairns Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit organization based in Cairns, Far North Queensland, dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs in need since 2019. With a team of experienced volunteers, we provide exceptional care and support to over 1,200 dogs, ensuring they find their forever homes. Our foster home environment allows us to assess each animal’s behavior and match them with the perfect family, spanning from the Torres Strait to Charters Towers.
Our mission at Cairns Animal Rescue is to make a positive impact on the lives of animals in need by offering a rewarding adoption experience. When dogs enter our care, they receive the necessary TLC, medication, health checks, vaccinations, and desexing. We work closely with our community partners, such as Cairns Canine School and Petbarn Cairns, to provide comprehensive care and support for our rescue dogs. We are always looking for volunteer foster carers to join our dedicated team and help us in our rescue efforts.
As a volunteer-based organization, Cairns Animal Rescue relies on the generosity of sponsors and donors to provide food, bedding, and basic medication for the animals we rescue. We are committed to connecting rescued dogs with loving families and ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve. If you are interested in adopting a pet or becoming a foster carer, we invite you to join us in our mission to rescue and rehome animals in Far North Queensland.
