The Australian Prague Ratter Club, also known as the Prazsky Krysarik Club in Australia, was officially established in 2015 by three passionate Prague Ratter owners and breeders. Recognizing the rarity of the breed in Australia, the club’s primary goal is to promote and preserve the unique characteristics of the Prague Ratter while ensuring the health and well-being of the dogs. The club is dedicated to breeding high-quality Prague Ratter puppies that adhere to the breed standard set by the country of origin.
As proud members of the Klb Pratel Psu Prazskych Krysariku (KPPPK), the official governing body for Prazsky Krysarik in Europe, the Australian Prague Ratter Club focuses on maintaining the breed standard and health of Prague Ratters in Australia. The club does not prioritize specific colors or rarity but instead emphasizes matching each puppy with a suitable family based on temperament and personality. Prague Ratters are described as loyal, friendly, and adventurous companions, known for their intelligence and trainability.
Located on the Central Coast of Australia, the Australian Prague Ratter Club collaborates with a network of trusted breeders across the country, including Canberra and Melbourne. The club welcomes visitors interested in learning more about the breed, adding a Prague Ratter to their family, or becoming a member. With a rich history dating back to the 8th century, Prague Ratters have a royal lineage and have gained popularity in various countries, including Australia. Recognized by Dogs Australia and Dogs NSW, Prague Ratters are cherished for their small size, affectionate nature, and adaptability to different environments.
