Detailed Information

Wild Woman Wildlife Rescue, located in the Cassowary Coast region of Queensland, is a dedicated not-for-profit organization founded by Heather Bridges in 2019. With over 60 years of combined experience in animal care and wildlife husbandry, our passionate team is committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of all Australian native species. From kangaroos and wallabies to possums, gliders, and even cassowaries, we provide a second chance to sick, orphaned, or injured wildlife.

Operating from our main hub known as ‘The Club House’ near Tully, surrounded by lush rainforests and plantations, Wild Woman Wildlife Rescue offers 24/7, 365-day emergency rescue services from Ingham to Cairns and up to the Atherton Tablelands. Our team of trained carers holds various permits and certifications, ensuring each animal receives the best care possible. We collaborate with local wildlife rescue organizations and independent carers to make a difference in the lives of countless native animals.

Rescue is not just a verb but a promise at Wild Woman Wildlife Rescue. Our mission is to protect and preserve Australia’s unique wildlife by responding to anonymous text messages reporting wildlife in distress. Whether it’s administering first aid, rehabilitation, or release, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the conservation of threatened and endangered species. Join us in our efforts to support and safeguard the diverse flora and fauna of the Cassowary Coast and beyond.
